Home

Home again, home again.

There is no place like home. Home….homeward bound. Home is

where the heart is.

I have traveled throughout the world over the years and have always

concluded that the U.S. is the best place to be. It is amazing and

wonderful.

I just returned from a trip to New Hampshire and Maine. These were

two of the states that I had not been to previously. Oregon, Idaho,

Montana, North and South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Arkansas

and Massachusetts are all that remain on the untrodden list.

It was beautiful in New England. The snow, the old brick buildings in

the nautical backdrop was amazing to experience. The warm

seafood in contrast to the extreme cold outdoors was a great

culinary experience. I had lobster, lobster stew, clam and lobster

chowder, lobster pie and clam chowder while I was there in Kittery,

Maine and Portsmouth, New Hampshire. I had some great new

beers- the Narragansett Bock beer at Warren's Lobster House and

the Smuttynose Shoals Pale Ale at the Portsmouth Brewing

Company were two favorites.

The cold was severely cold, an experience that brought back

previously blocked memories of growing up in this environment in

Toledo. Invigoratingly sentimental with a dash of brrrrrr and never

again.

I learned, while flying home across the country and through my old

territory (Detroit), that California is where I belong. This small dot in

a vast world is the best of the best and where my soul is full. And

amidst this tiny dot is an even smaller dot- my home- 1.2 acres of

bliss and contentment. And within that very tiny dot is a house where

I am warm and safe. And under the roof of that spec of the Earth is

my Lynn, who is my whole world in all of its fineness and beauty and

wonderment.
